The Humane Society of the Lakes operates a no kill shelter for homeless animals of the Becker County area. Space is limited. Animals are taken in as room is made available when our shelter residents find their furever homes.
Adoptable animals may be viewed during business hours:
Tuesday - Friday 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Saturday 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
If you are interested in adopting, please view our Adoptable Animals page.
If you find an animal that you like and are interested in moving forward in the adoption process, please complete our Adoption Application.
HSL’s adoption process includes: completed adoption application, staff supervised visit between the animal and potential adopter(s), meet and greet between the animal and any animals currently in potential adopter(s) home, completion of adoption contract, and staff authorization of the adoption.
